Tura, June 5: The Mothers’ Union, Tura, has condemned the murder of Raja Raghuwanshi, a tourist from Indore, who was found dead in Sohra, East Khasi Hills district.
The union has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and urged the government to take immediate action to book the perpetrators.
Raja Raghuwanshi and his wife Sonam went missing while on their honeymoon in Sohra.
Raja’s body was recovered from a deep gorge at Weisawdong falls on Monday, and Sonam is still missing.
The incident has sparked widespread concern and outrage, with many demanding swift action to apprehend the culprits.

The Mothers’ Union has demanded that the government book the perpetrators of Raja’s murder and bring them to justice.
They also urged to expedite the search for Sonam Raghuwanshi and ensure her safe return.
“Take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of tourists in the region”, the released added.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the loved ones of Raja Raghuwanshi from Indore, who tragically lost his life while on his honeymoon in Sohra… We strongly condemn this unfortunate incident and urge the government to take immediate action to book the perpetrators and expedite the search for his wife, Sonam Raghuwanshi, who is still missing”, reads the statement issued by Sume C B Sangma, Secretary of The Mothers’ Union, Tura.
