Shillong, July 28: Ahead of the much-anticipated Durand Cup 134th Edition – 2025 match between Shillong Lajong FC and Rangdajied United FC, scheduled to be held on July 29 at JN Stadium, Polo, the Office of the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, has issued an important traffic advisory for the general public.

To ensure smooth movement and public safety during the high-profile fixture, a series of traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be enforced starting from 6:00 PM onwards on match day.

Traffic Diversions:

1. No entry from City Hut Dhaba towards Polo Market – Vehicles will be diverted from the main road at Kachari Junction.

2. No entry from Lumingshai Junction towards CRPF Junction – Vehicles will be redirected via Lawmali Junction and beyond.

3. No entry from Lumingshai Junction towards Forest Colony – Diversions will be made through Lawmali Junction.

4. No right turn at Matri Mandir Junction towards Polo Point – Vehicles will be diverted towards 4th Furlong Junction and beyond.

Designated Parking Areas:

1. SRGT Parking Lot

2. One-side parking along Software Technology Park, Lumingshai

3. One-side parking from Tiara Restaurant Junction to CM Connect Office Junction

4. One-side parking from Golflink Tri-Junction to Tiara Restaurant Junction

5. Road stretch near the Shillong Municipal Board Office

6. Red Field, Golflink (opposite Golf Retreat)

No Parking Zones:

1. Stretch from Pinewood Junction to BJP Office

2. CM Bungalow Junction to Polo Towers

3. Majestic Hotel to Oakland Post Office Junction

4. CRPF Junction, Polo

5. Polo to 4th Furlong

6. Polo to Lawmali Junction

7. Lawmali Junction to Lumingshai Junction

The East Khasi Hills Police have urged all commuters, local residents, and matchgoers to cooperate with the temporary traffic arrangements and adhere strictly to signage and instructions from on-ground personnel.

The public has been requested to plan their movement accordingly and follow the directives for a hassle-free experience on match day.
