Lalduhoma, Mizoram’s new CM, vows action against false allegations and political interference

Aizawl, Dec 8: After taking oath as Mizoram chief minister, Lalduhoma has assured the citizens that their government would be very strict against fake allegations of politicians and parties.

“Those with fake accounts will be traced and punished as per law. We will not be in favour of political transferring of jobs. Complaint and suggestions boxes will be placed at Departments,” Lalduhoma said.

He said, “Financial situation is bad. RBI had warned the government. We will use the new Financial year will be year of consolidation”.

“Our top priority is the farmers. Finance department has 150 lakhs under Socio-Economic Development Programme (SEDP).Government servants were not free to have an opinion. Now they will be given a free voice within law of their work. New Financial year will have accurate figures. New budget will be ZPM oriented and each Department must also prepare an accurate budget,” the new chief minister of Mizoram said.

He further added, “Resource mobilization Committee will be established for austerity measures where ministers will lead the way. We will end buying of new vehicles for MLAs. Each minister will be alloted 1 vehicle plus 1 backup vehicle.”

“I request the public to stop inviting ministers and MLAs as chief guests in all events. All government buildings will be furnished and we will use only locally produced thing,” he said.

Lalduhoma said, “Lokayukta should be strengthened and will give general consent to CBI. Mizoram Subordinated Services Selection Board and Socio-Economic Development Programme will immediately be dismantled. Our government will be serious in fight against drug and alcohol abuse.”

He further said a Boundary Committee will be established and all work orders of those who do not maintain quality will be canceled and their bills would not be cleared.

Lalduhoma, former IPS officer, who was in-charge of security for then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, always believed the State has space for a regional alternative to the Mizo National Front.

He was disqualified twice under the Anti-Defection Law of 1985 as a lawmaker. And he failed four times to provide Mizoram an alternative to the Congress, the party he had cut his political teeth in, and the Mizo National Front (MNF).
