Tura, Sep 7: In a thrilling final at the P. A. Sangma Football Stadium, Maram FC defeated defending champions Chipakkore FC with a final score of 2-1 to secure their third Tura Football League (TFL) Super Division title. The victory marked the end of an exciting season, celebrated by a packed stadium of enthusiastic fans and dignitaries.

The match started with Maram FC quickly gaining the upper hand. The opening goal came in the 14th minute when Chipakkore FC’s Dravid Rabha accidentally scored an own goal. Just over twenty minutes later, Bris Taro extended Maram FC’s lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 36th minute. Maram FC’s dominance in ball possession throughout the first half was a key factor in their comfortable halftime lead.
Chipakkore FC showed resilience in the second half, with Johnfield A. Sangma scoring a crucial goal just one minute after the restart. Despite a fierce offensive effort and numerous chances, they could not find an equalizer, allowing Maram FC to hold on to their lead and win the title.

The match saw several yellow cards issued, including one to Chipakkore FC’s Pobitro Rabha and three to Maram FC players Tremarchwal Ch. Marak, Treesbirth Momin, and Jenius W. Marak. Maram FC’s manager, Larry Momin, was also shown a red card for misconduct.
The champions, Maram FC, received a prize of 2 lakh rupees and the championship trophy, while Chipakkore FC was awarded 1 lakh rupees as runners-up. The champion team has also received a chance to play at the Meghalaya State League (MSL), where they will compete against the elite teams of the state.

The event also celebrated individual player achievements:
* Best Goal Keeper: Jaksram B. Marak (Chipakkore FC)
* Best Defender: Balman Marak (Maram FC)
* Best Midfielder: Dinath Marak (West Balalgre)
* Best Forward: Akim Sangma (Chipakkore FC)
* Player of the Final: Artius Momin (Maram FC)
* Top Scorer: Tremarchwal Ch. Marak (Maram FC), with 9 goals
* Player of the League: Easter Salchang Ch. Sangma (Maram FC)

The final was graced by Subir M Marak, MLA of Rangsakona constituency; Rupankar K Marak, DFO, West Garo Hills; Saljagring M Marak, District Sports Officer, West Garo Hills and members of the District Football Association, Tura, who presented the awards and trophies to the deserving teams and players.
