Shillong, Nov 12: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K. Sangma on Wednesday visited iconic State of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat to join the nation-wide observance of ‘The Bharat Parv’ 2025 celebrating India’s unity and diverse heritage.
Sangma also accompanied by Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu.

During his visit, Conrad K. Sangma paid homage to the ‘Iron Man of India’, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
He made a complete tour of the colossal monument and its premises, including the museum, which commemorates the life, vision, and contributions of Saradar Patel towards the nation.
Speaking at the Bharat Parv, Conrad K. Sangma reflected on the deep historical significance of the monument, asserting, “We all know that the Statue of Unity is not just a statue; it holds a great history, the nation’s history. It is a symbol of the way Sardar Patel ji unified our country and the contribution he made.”

He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding “I want to separately thank our Prime Minister, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, and all organizing committee members for giving us this opportunity.”
He also issued a strong invitation to all citizens, urging them to experience the site’s marvel firsthand and visit the place at least once.
Sangma took a special interest in the event, visiting the various stalls representing states from across the country.

He also made dedicated stops at the stalls of Meghalaya Tourism and Meghalayan Age to encourage the state’s representatives.

He also actively engaged with the artisans and entrepreneurs at the craft mela and attended the food festival, where he enjoyed traditional Meghalayan cuisine being showcased to the national audience.
The ‘Bharat Parv 2025’ embodies the national mission of ‘One India, Great India’, showcasing the rich and varied cultures, arts, and traditions from across the country.
This edition of the Parv at the Statue of Unity is an addition for the 2025 commemoration of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, aimed at strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity.
