Shillong, Jul 14: The Meghalaya government is awaiting a report from NEIGRIHMS on an alleged molestation case before taking any action, Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said on Tuesday.

Shylla said the institute has launched an internal investigation into the matter.

“We have enquired and they have ordered an investigation. We are waiting for their report,” he told reporters.

The minister said the state will decide on further steps after reviewing the findings.

“Based on their report, we will take action. We need to give them time to complete the inquiry and find out what really happened,” Shylla said.

He added that the government will intervene if any lapses are found.
