Shillong, Oct 7: Inspector General of Police (SB/Bdr) cum Chairman of Central Recruitment Board (CRB) Dalton P Marak has informed that the result for the Meghalaya police job recruitment is expected to be declared within this month or by next month.

“The final stage of preparation to declare the result is on,” Marak told reporters on Tuesday after meeting with the candidates.

“It is not possible to give you the exact date but hopefully within this month or by next month we should be able to declare the results and start the interview for the selected candidates,” he said.

around 54,000 candidates appeared for the written test, and the tabulation of marks is currently in progress.

“I have explained to them (candidates) that throughout this recruitment event we have received 1.72 lakh applications out of which around 1.28 lakh took part in the physical efficiency test (PET) and finally around 58,000 candidates were qualified. (However) in total around 54,000 candidates have appeared in the written test. Right now, the firm which is engaged for conducting this written test and the whole process of recruitment, they are processing the preparation of the result sheets. They are also handling a huge data of around 54,000 candidates, including the OMR sheets where the answers are given,” Marak said.

“They wanted to know all this and so we have explained to them and they appear to be satisfied with the explanation. If anybody has any queries or doubts or questions regarding the ongoing process of recruitment you are welcome to come to the CRB office or meet me in the police headquarters,” he added.

The CRB chairman said that the process is transparent, with answer keys published for candidates to calculate their scores.

According to him, there are three copies of OMR sheets – first copy is with the company for assessing the marks for the written test, second is kept with the CRB and third is with the candidates.

“The candidates are able to compare and see how much marks they will be scoring in the written test. They already got the marks of the PET and then they are also able to calculate their own written test comparing with the answer keys published, so they would be able to know how much they will be scoring…,” he stated.
