Meghalaya to ramp up vaccination, to go in Mission Mode

Must read

Shillong, May 26: Meghalaya has decided to aggressively undertake the vaccination of its citizens against the COVID–19 by going into the 2nd Mission Mode. It will employ a new strategy whereby the vulnerable locations will be identified, selected and vaccinated thoroughly.

Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Wednesday told the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to monitor every district the way the country monitor the States as certain districts as cases are increasing in certain districts, as he stressed on vaccination being the main strategy to fight COVID.

“We cannot generalize our study of cases and we must take a target-based & focused approach. Special Teams/Zonal Teams are being put in place to look into the management. DCs are advised to take on mobilisation at the grassroot level by involving members of the community especially in vulnerable locations,” he told the DCs.

Stressing that vaccination is the best armour to mitigate the impact of COVID, he encouraged the state machinery to intensify their efforts.
