SHILLONG, MAY 3: The Manipuri Elders’ Consortium Shillong commemorated the third anniversary of the start of the Manipur conflict with a discussion on “Manipur and Meitei: The Road Ahead” at Phunga Heritage, Laitumkhrah, on Sunday

The programme, organised by MECS, marked three years since the “onslaught on Meitei community in our own land Manipur” began on May 3, 2023.

Meitei community members from different walks of life residing in and around Shillong attended the event and shared their views on “safeguarding the Meitei community and bringing peace in Manipur.”

During the programme, a one-minute silence was observed and candles were lit to “pay homage to those who lost their lives since 3rd May 2023 in the ongoing conflict.”
