Tura, Jan 24: The body of a 53-year-old man who had been missing for over a month was recovered on Wednesday from the Doldegre area, behind the Tura Medical College.

The deceased has been identified as Mensing M. Marak, a native of Garobadha, Maljanggre, who was residing at the ITI area in Tura. He had been reported missing since December 13, following which family members had circulated missing posters across the town.

According to sources, villagers were clearing a patch of land in the Doldegre area when they came across a decomposed body. The matter was immediately reported to the Nokma of the area, who alerted Araimile Police Station. Police teams rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

The remains have been sent for post-mortem examination, scheduled to be conducted today, along with DNA sampling to establish identity.

Based on specific inputs, a team from Araimile Police Station recovered the decomposed body. As of now, there is no indication of foul play, however we are awaiting the post-mortem report for confirmation.”
