Guwahati: The Supreme Court is scheduled on April 24 to pass directions on petition seeking 100% cross verification of vote count in electronic voting machines (EVMs) with Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) paper slips.

Guwahati: The intense heat wave sweeping large parts of east India continued unabated and spread to southern parts of the country on Tuesday. Maximum temperatures settled two to seven degrees Celsius above normal in parts of Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Kejriwal judicial custody extends

Guwahati: A Delhi court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Telangana leader K Kavitha in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam till May 7.
