Shillong, May 27: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has reached out to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma regarding the mysterious disappearance of a newlywed couple from Indore — Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi — who went missing last week in Sohra (Cherrapunji), Meghalaya.

Expressing concern on social media platform X, Yadav wrote, “The news of Indore resident newlywed couple Raja and wife Sonam Raghuvanshi going missing in Sohra Hills of Shillong while visiting Meghalaya is extremely worrying.”

Yadav said he spoke directly with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, urging swift and effective action. “The Chief Minister assured that his police and administration are actively working to locate the couple and have pledged all possible help,” Yadav added.

He also directed senior officials in Madhya Pradesh to stay in regular contact and coordinate closely with Meghalaya authorities in the search efforts. “I pray to God that Raja and Sonam return home safely. We are making every possible effort for their safe return,” he said.

The couple reportedly went missing while visiting Sohra, a popular tourist destination. Their scooty was found abandoned at Sohra Rim, with the key still in the ignition, raising serious concerns about their safety.

According to Meghalaya Police, a search operation is underway. All nearby villages and local authorities have been alerted, and police teams along with Home Guards have been deployed in surrounding areas to assist in the search.
