MPSC conducts first exams at it’s new office building in Tura

Must read

Tura, Nov 16: The new Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) office building in Dakopgre, Tura, conducted its first major examination on Saturday, for aspirants from the Garo Hills region.

A total of 50 candidates wrote the examination for the post of Junior Engineer Grade-I (Civil) under various departments, becoming the first batch to benefit from the new centre.

Inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, just weeks prior on November 8, the Tura office aims to cut down on the hectic and exhausting travel traditionally required for various interviews to Shillong.

The Chief Minister envisioned that the new facility would ensure that students can appear for exams and interviews locally, with adequate rest, thereby improving performance and ensuring a more equitable access to government opportunities.
