Kohima, July 14: Fifteen young Nagas who transformed vocational training into successful careers and entrepreneurial ventures will be honoured on World Youth Skills Day by the Nagaland Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) on July 15.
The event, organised by the Nagaland Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) under the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), is themed “15 Faces. 15 Inspiring Journeys. One Celebration of Transformation.” It celebrates the achievements of young men and women whose lives have been transformed through skill development, perseverance and entrepreneurship.
The 15 honourees are Samrangbe, Hivika, Longmong, Jelila, Visasielie, Chamya, Olimsonen, Kutholuzo, Angshan, Limamatsung, Sulise, Lirenthung, Amkumtemsu, Abel and Hoto.
According to NSEDM, the awardees represent diverse trades and professions, demonstrating how skill development and entrepreneurship have opened pathways to employment, self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods while strengthening Nagaland’s skilled workforce.
“These journeys reflect the transformative power of skills in creating opportunities, fostering self-reliance and building a brighter future for the youth of Nagaland,” NSEDM said.
The campaign aims to inspire more young people across the state to pursue vocational training, embrace innovation and explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
Observed globally every year on July 15, World Youth Skills Day highlights the importance of technical, vocational and entrepreneurial skills in preparing young people for employment and the future of work.
Through the initiative, NSEDM and IDAN hope to spotlight inspiring success stories that showcase the life-changing impact of skill development while encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs and skilled professionals in Nagaland.
