Nirupama Memorial School achieves 100% result, honours students in felicitation programme

Williamnagar, April 15: In a remarkable academic achievement, Nirupama Memorial Secondary School, Garobadha, has once again recorded a 100 percent pass result in the SSLC Examination 2026, bringing pride to South West Garo Hills.

Nirupama Memorial Secondary School, Garobadha, is one of the leading educational institutions in South West Garo Hills and is run by the MLA of Rangsakona, Subir Marak. A total of 126 students appeared for the examination, and all 126 successfully passed. Among them, 82 students secured First Division, 39 secured Second Division, while 5 students passed in the Third Division.
Adding to the school’s achievement, Deep Jyoti Koch secured the 16th rank in the Top 20 list, bringing laurels to the institution.

To celebrate this outstanding success, the school organised a felicitation programme to honour its meritorious students. The event featured cultural performances, including songs and dances by the students of Nirupama Memorial Secondary School, which entertained the guests and made the occasion memorable.

The programme was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, Anendya Raajsshre, Superintendent of Police Vikash Varma, along with parents and other dignitaries.

Deep Jyoti Koch, who secured the 16th rank in the Top 20 list, expressed his gratitude to the Director of the school, Subir Marak, for believing in him and sponsoring his higher studies at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong. He also thanked the teachers, Headmaster, and Headmistress for their dedication, guidance, and motivation in shaping his future. He further expressed his heartfelt thanks to his parents for their constant support and encouragement.

Superintendent of Police, Vikash Varma, congratulated the meritorious students on their achievement. He stated that this success marks just the beginning of their journey and career. He advised them to always remember their roots, stay connected to their friends, school, and teachers, and remain grounded wherever they go. He also offered to guide students in choosing their academic streams, especially in the field of engineering, as he holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Deputy Commissioner Anendya Raajsshre thanked the Director and MLA of Rangsakona, Subir Marak, for establishing the school and for his dedication to the education sector in the district. She highlighted that achieving a rank in the Top 20 list for the first time is a proud moment for the institution.

Addressing the students, she encouraged them to give their best in everything they do and to ensure that their efforts contribute positively to society. She also assured that the Deputy Commissioner’s office remains open to students seeking guidance or clarification.

The local MLA and founder of the school, Subir Marak, expressed immense joy and stated that words were insufficient to describe his happiness since the declaration of the results. He congratulated Deep Jyoti Koch for bringing pride to the school and said that this achievement has placed Nirupama Memorial Secondary School on the educational map of Meghalaya, a milestone he had been waiting for over 14 years.

He further shared that since the inception of the school in 2001, his vision has been to provide quality education, which remains the core purpose of the institution. He encouraged other students to follow in the footsteps of Deep Jyoti Koch and bring pride to the school, teachers, and parents. He also assured continued support to meritorious students, stating that he would assist those who secure positions in the Top 20 list, including support for their higher education up to graduation.

During the felicitation programme, Deep Jyoti Koch was presented with the prospectus of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, where all his educational expenses will be borne by Subir Marak.Additionally, seven students were awarded cash prizes of ₹25,000 each, while eighteen students received ₹10,000 each. This initiative by the school aims to encourage students to excel academically and promote higher education in the region.

Nirupama Memorial Secondary School, Garobadha, continues to uphold a strong commitment to quality education, discipline, and overall student development. To further support higher education, the school has introduced Class XI from this academic year.
