SHILLONG, APR 16: The BJP has not finalised its candidate for the upcoming Shillong Lok Sabha byelection, with party chief spokesperson M Kharkrang on Wednesday stating that a decision will be taken only after the election is officially declared.

“No finalization has been done as the elections have not been declared,” Kharkrang said when asked about the party’s candidate for the Shillong seat.

“Once the elections are declared, the committee will sit down and decide, then we will send it to Delhi for approval,” he added.

Kharkrang further said that the party’s ticket remains open to all eligible workers.

“Because any BJP karyakarta, he is eligible to apply for the party ticket. So the door is still open and it is too early now to decide,” he stated.
