Dibrugarh, Oct 13: Oil India Limited (OIL) has signed a long-term Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) to ensure the continued supply of 1.4 MMSCMD of natural gas to NEEPCO’s Assam Gas Based Power Station (AGBPS) at Bokuloni, Dibrugarh, for the next 15 years.
The new agreement succeeds the earlier 10-year arrangement between the two public sector enterprises, reaffirming their enduring partnership in powering the Northeast.
The GSPA was formally executed by Ranjan Goswami, Executive Director (Business Development), OIL, and Bijit Kumar Goswami, Executive Director (Operation & Maintenance), NEEPCO, at the AGBPS office in Bokuloni.

As the largest gas-based power plant in Assam, AGBPS plays a crucial role in meeting the region’s electricity demand. The extended-term agreement underscores OIL’s commitment to energy reliability, backed by its robust reserve base and proven capability to sustain gas supply from domestic sources.
Through this continued collaboration, OIL and NEEPCO are reinforcing Assam’s and the Northeast’s energy security, while supporting India’s broader vision of affordable, cleaner, and sustainable energy.
