Nongpoh, Nov 13: In an unfortunate incident one aged man was burnt alive after a huge fire engulfed his house, this incident occurred on the afternoon of 12 November at Kpep Syiem village under Byrnihat Police Outpost.

The deceased person was identified as Klo Lyngdoh 70-year-old man who was also suffering from stroke for the last 11 months and was in bed since the time he suffered from a stroke. He is also living with his wife Slan Wahlang.

Informing this newsman, Blain Shadap, Secretary shnong of Kpep Syiem, said that the unfortunate incident occurred when the old man was alone at home while his wife was on paddy field, whereas the cause of the fire outbreak it is suspected to be from the kitchen.

He also said that soon after hearing about the incident local residents rushed to the spot to distinguish the fire but in vain as the fire had turned the house into ashes, after which they also informed Byrnihat Police Outpost and Fire Emergency Service.

Police on reaching the spot witnessed that the house had been turned into ashes and conducted the inquiry on the incident where spot post-mortem was conducted and later the body was hand over to the family members.
