Mandwai (West Tripura), April 12: As voting picked up pace in the TTAADC elections, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma used the moment to send out a clear message, placing his confidence firmly in the electorate.
Casting his vote at Abhiram Mukhumu Senior Basic School in Mandwai, Debbarma said the people of Tripura are “intelligent” and will choose what is right, framing the election as one that ultimately rests on public judgment rather than political claims.
His remarks come at a time when the TTAADC polls are being seen as a key test of strength, particularly for the TIPRA Motha Party, which has been positioning itself as a dominant regional force.
While urging voters to participate, Debbarma also called for restraint on the ground, appealing to all sides to ensure the process remains peaceful.
Polling, which began at 7 AM, has seen steady voter movement across ADC areas, with early queues reported from multiple booths.
The election is witnessing a multi-cornered contest, though the primary focus remains on the contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party and TIPRA Motha.
With stakes high and messaging now shifting from mobilisation to mandate, the emphasis is increasingly on how voters respond through the day.
