Guwahati, Sep 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on September 22, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple projects worth over ₹5,100 crore.
At Itanagar, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of two major hydropower projects — the Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and the Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW) — with a combined investment of over ₹3,700 crore. These projects in the Siyom sub-basin will harness the region’s hydroelectric potential and boost clean energy generation.
He will also lay the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art Convention Center in Tawang, located at an altitude of 9,820 feet. With a capacity of over 1,500 delegates, the centre will serve as a premier venue for conferences, exhibitions, and cultural events.
In addition, PM Modi will launch infrastructure projects worth ₹1,290 crore, covering connectivity, healthcare, fire safety, and working women hostels. He will also interact with local taxpayers, traders, and industry representatives on the impact of recent GST rationalisation.
Later, the Prime Minister will visit Tripura to inaugurate the redevelopment of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex at Matabari in Gomati district. The project, taken up under the PRASAD scheme, has modernised the temple premises with new pathways, renovated entrances, drainage, fencing, and a three-storied complex housing stalls, meditation halls, guest rooms, and offices.
The temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, holds immense religious and cultural significance. Its redevelopment is expected to boost tourism, generate employment, and support socio-economic development in the state.
