Police recover hidden weapons

Tura, Oct 20: One Simnang Sangma today surrendered before the police in North Garo Hills. He was wanted in a case of stocking weapons that were recovered sometime last week under Bajengdoba Police Station.

As per reports, based on sources, police raided the house of Sangma (30) in the village of Dalmang village under Bajengdoba PS after receiving information of weapons being collected by the person.

Upon raiding the house, police recovered a few dummy weapons as well as some country made weapons. The police further also found camouflage uniforms in the house. The recoveries were made on Oct 13.

“While the raid was on, Sangma was not in the village and was absconding. However, he later surrendered to the police at Bajengdoba and is currently cooperating with the investigation,” said police chief of North Garo Hills Abraham T Sangma.

A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC and an investigation into the matter is currently on.
