Tura, June 5: Prime Music Incubation, an initiative aimed at nurturing musical talent and fostering the growth of the music industry, successfully concluded its third two-day workshop on June 2-3, 2023. The event, organized by the Durama Association of Music and Arts (DAMA) in association with PRIME Meghalaya, took place at the Prime Hub in Tura, Meghalaya.

The workshops brought together aspiring musicians, music enthusiasts, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge, develop skills, and explore new horizons in the field of music. Participants were treated to an enriching experience with a diverse range of sessions led by renowned experts in the industry.

On the first day, attendees were captivated by the 1st Session workshop on vocal training, led by Chesyl Momin, Music Director at Tura Baptist Church. Chesyl Momin’s expertise and experience provided valuable insights into honing vocal skills and techniques. Following this, Silman Marak, a legendary guitarist known for his collaborations with various artists from across the country, including appearances on renowned shows like Big Boss, conducted an enthralling guitar clinic. Participants had the opportunity to learn from Silman Marak’s vast knowledge and mastery of the instrument.

The second day commenced with a session on piano led by Tengrang Sangma, a music teacher and the Director of Tura Music Academy. Tengrang Sangma, an alumnus of Delhi School of Music, shared his expertise and guided participants in exploring the intricacies of playing the piano. Attendees were able to enhance their skills and discover new techniques under his mentorship.

The workshop continued with a session by Tangsrik Sangma, who delved into the world of folk music and instruments. Tangsrik, through hands-on demonstrations, shed light on the rich heritage of folk music and its instruments, providing participants with a deeper understanding of this art form.

The third two-day workshop of Prime Music Incubation were met with resounding success. Participants expressed their gratitude for the invaluable knowledge and guidance imparted by the esteemed workshop leaders. The workshops served as a platform for aspiring musicians to learn, collaborate, and grow, fostering a sense of camaraderie within the music community.
