Dibrugarh, April 12: Punjab chief minister and Aam Adami Party (AAP) star campaigner Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday came down heavily on Himanta Biswa Sarma led- BJP in Assam for shutting down 8000 government schools.

Addressing a mega rally at Tingrai Bangali Balijan field in Tinsukia for AAP candidate Manoj Dhanowar, Singh said, “in Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma led-BJP government has shut down 8000 schools but in Delhi the Arvind Kejriwal led-AAP goverment has rejuvenated the government schools. Most parents in Delhi have opted for government schools instead of private schools,”.

He further stated that “Delhi was in a similar situation but after Arvind Kejriwal came into power, he developed the government schools”.

He further added, “I have heard that Assam CM’s wife has a private school. When they have private schools why would they develop the government schools,”.

Slamming Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Bhagwant Singh Mann said in 2015 he was the most corrupt person but now he has become a clean person.

Criticising PM Narendra Modi, Mann said in BJP everything is ‘jumla’ and fake assurance. “Narendra Modi talked about tea. I think that he does not know to prepare a tea. BJP thought that Arvind Kejriwal was in jail and AAP will be finished but how can they finish a thought process,” he asked.

“If we come to power we will raise the the minimum wage of the tea garden workers up to Rs 450. The minimum wage of the tea garden workers are very low in Assam compared to Delhi. Delhi government has been paying maximum wage to a daily wage earner,” Bhagwant Singh Mann stated.

This is dictatorship how could they do this. BJP is dangerous force for the country. Our fight is to save the democracy and the constitution. Therefore, these parliamentary election is very important for us,”, he further stated.

“We find leaders from Aam people. Manoj has emerged as a leader from Aam people, this is the good about AAP party.”
