Boko, Sept 27: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC), Tankeshwar Rabha expressed deep sorrow and anger over the untimely demise of Assam’s cultural icon and beloved singer, Zubeen Garg.
Rabha strongly criticized the newly appointed Co-District Superintendent of Police (CDSP) of Boko-Chhaygaon, Sandipan Garg, for allegedly failing to prevent the incident that led to Zubeen’s death.

The CEM demanded the immediate suspension of SP Garg, questioning how a police officer who could not ensure the safety of his own brother would be able to protect the common people of Boko-Chhaygaon legislative constituency.
Rabha also pressed for the immediate arrest of four individuals—Shyamkanu Mahanta, Sekhar Goswami, Siddhartha Sharma, and Sandipan Garg—accusing them of having a role in the chain of events linked to Zubeen’s demise.
He warned that unless they are arrested and handed exemplary punishment within 15 days, it would signal that the justice for Zubeen Garg has been abandoned by the State.
The comments came during a public meeting held on Friday night at Gamoirimura-Bamunigaon village in Boko.
Addressing the gathering, Rabha joined the villagers in offering prayers for the departed soul of the popular singer while at the same time voicing outrage at the circumstances surrounding his death.
