Shillong Police clarify on alleged syringe attack: Incident found to be false

Shillong, Sep 2: The Shillong City Police have issued a clarification regarding the widely reported incident in which a minor girl was allegedly injected with a syringe by two unidentified bike-borne individuals near the Bible Society of India, Jaiaw, on August 18.

The matter, which sparked widespread concern and public apprehension, was registered as Lumdiengjri PS Case No. 108(08)2025 under Sections 123/125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Following a thorough investigation, which included examining all relevant evidence and recording statements before the Court, police confirmed that the alleged incident did not take place as reported in the FIR.

Superintendent of Police (City), Vivek Syiem, IPS, informed that in compliance with legal procedures, a Final Report will be submitted before the competent Court.
