SHILLONG, OCT 13: Minister in-charge Sports and Youth Affairs Wailadmiki Shylla on Monday announced that Shillong will host the upcoming Tri-Nation Women’s Football Tournament, featuring India, Iran, and Nepal.
The tournament will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong from October 21 to 27.
The schedule for the tournament is India vs Iran on October 21, Iran vs Nepal on October 24 and India vs Nepal on October 27.
The participating teams are set to arrive on the following dates – India on October 17, Iran on October 19 and Nepal on October 22.

Expressing confidence in the state’s ability to host the tournament successfully, Shylla said, “We have recently hosted several high-profile events, including the 134th edition of the Durand Cup, AFC qualifiers, and an international friendly. We are capable and well-prepared to host this tournament, and the department and MFA have already held several meetings to ensure its success.”
“I am quite confident that this will be a successful one,” he added.
The tournament is organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and the state government has received confirmation from the AIFF.
