Shillong, Oct 9: Deputy Chief Minister incharge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong has said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the murder of a 7-year-old boy and assured speedy arrest of the perpetrators involved in the heinous crime.
“Yes, SIT under the leadership of the SP East Khasi Hills (has been formed) and the investigation is on,” Tynsong told reporters on Thursday.
“…let me tell you one thing that very soon we will be able to nab the culprits and reach to the conclusion of these criminal activities that have happened,” he also assured.
The body of seven-year-old Kyrshanbor Kharmudai, who had reportedly gone missing from his residence at Nongrah on Wednesday evening, was recovered from Mawpat today morning.
“The post-mortem report is awaited (but preliminary indications) suggest that it is a murder case,” Tynsong said while expressing confidence that police will be able to crack the case in no time.
Asked, the deputy chief minister said, “You cannot just blame the government. So many people any issue happened they blame the government.”
He emphasized the importance of taking care of children and being aware of their surroundings to prevent such incidents. “I personally feel that we need to also give a proper education to the parents who need to take care of their kids, why and how the kid disappeared.
So from the police side, we are trying our best to make sure that safety of the citizens of the state is always there but as far as criminal activities happen, I think you cannot say the lapses happened just because of the police force.”
Tynsong also stressed that the government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
