Jowai, Nov 16: The Project “Illuminating Night Schools & Energy for Farms of Jaintia Hills” was inaugurated and flagged off by the West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes on Tuesday.The project is being implemented in collaboration with Bosco Integrated Development Society (BIDS) & NABARD under the sponsorship of NABCONS, Delhi.The project components being flagged off comprise of a Maruti Supercarry, a Honda Generator and solar lamps which will help 30 community night schools in both East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills and more than 200 families of Laskein block engaged in orchard and tree plantation and other livelihood interventions.

Amongst other announcements, NABARD also announced the release of funds for upgradation of Ialong Civil Hospital, Ummulong PHC, Nongtalang PHC, building of Anganwadis and also energy generation through Hydrogers throughout all districts in the state.
