SHILLONG, OCT 11: The 3rd State Level Inter-School Traditional Singing Competition successfully concluded at the Lariti Performing Centre, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Meghalaya.
Synod School emerged victorious for their unique performance showcasing traditional music instruments, while Meghalaya Public School topped the solo category.
Organized by the Department of Arts & Culture in collaboration with Shillong Public School, the event saw enthusiastic participation from schools across the state.

Students, adorned in traditional attire, mesmerized the audience with their performances on traditional instruments and soulful renditions of indigenous melodies and tribal rhythms.
In his speech as chief guest, Principal Secretary FR Kharkongor emphasized the importance of preserving cultural roots and being connected to nature.
He assured continued support for such programs, which aim to promote authenticity and indigenity.
Padma Shri Silby Passah reminded the young audience of their cultural heritage and entertained them with a lively rendition of traditional phawars.
