The flood situation has been grim in Assam after 17 districts were affected after Brahmaputra river rises due to the incessant rain in upper streams areas for the last couple of days.
Nearly five lakh people reeling under flood across 12 districts in Assam with one person died after he washed away in the flood water in Udalguri district.
According to the official data, Lakhimpur is worst hit after affecting almost 23,500 people, followed by Dibrugarh with more than 3,800 people and Dhemaji with almost 1,500 persons.
