Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the state government is closely monitoring developments across the border, following a fresh wave of unrest in neighbouring Bangladesh.
The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), a regional party and an ally of Congress-led United Opposition, on Monday urged the Union government to reassess the security measures on the Indo-Bangladesh border in light of recent developments in Bangladesh, where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India following a mass uprising.
