The Superintendent of Police (Traffic) East Khasi Hills District K Prasad has informed that stickers with allotted numbers will be issued to local taxi and auto rickshaw owners operating within the district's jurisdiction.
The Meghalaya Rural Tourism Forum (MRTF) has called on the state government to reconsider a proposed ban on Assam-registered tourist taxis, warning that the measure could damage the state’s tourism sector.
