Residents of Maikhuli village, located near the Meghalaya-Assam border, gathered on Thursday, and demanded immediate repairs and the installation of culverts and proper drainage systems to address frequent waterlogging that has damaged internal roads.
In the midst of ongoing border talks between Assam and Meghalaya, the state BJP has decided to meet Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to seek intervention to ensure the communities along the border don’t clash.
