Informing this after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Cabinet Minister Marcuise N Marak said, “We have approved the revised uniform guidelines for recruitment of police personnel in Meghalaya police.”
Following inputs received of extortion in commercial centers at Police Bazar and Iewduh, the Special Cell of East Khasi Hills Police laid a trap and arrested 4 persons from Police Bazar who were caught serving extortion notes to one of the shops on Thursday.
In remembrance of all those police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, the Police Force of South West Garo Hills District on Saturday paid homage to the martyrs for their Supreme Sacrifice.
The major fire in Police Bazar, which started at around 1.20 PM on Saturday afternoon, continues to rage on even after 8 hours. One person has died due to the suffocation and one person still remains missing.
