Dibrugarh, July 17: In a significant moment of cultural diplomacy and spiritual exchange, a 15-member delegation from Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the Sri Sri Jagannath Temple in Dibrugarh on Thursday.
The high-profile team was led by Kiran Moongtin, Minister attached to the Department of South Asian, Middle East, and African Affairs.
Originally scheduled for a 30-minute visit, the delegation—comprising senior officials and spiritual followers—extended their stay, drawn in by the temple’s serene ambience, spiritual aura, and architectural elegance. They offered prayers at all eight shrines within the temple complex.

Members of the Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Trust, including Trustee Dip Chasa, Atmaram Agarwal, Pankaj Sobor, and Probal Das, warmly welcomed the visitors. The Trust offered Mahaprasad and light refreshments, which were received with deep appreciation.
Speaking on the occasion, the delegates praised the sanctity of the temple, the devotion of the local community, and the warm hospitality extended to them. The visit is being seen as a symbol of the deepening cultural and spiritual ties between India and Thailand.
“This marks a proud moment of international recognition for the temple and a step forward in promoting global harmony through shared traditions,” said Vijay Khemani, Secretary of the Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Trust.
