Shillong, March 10: The Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Khasi Hills, Rituraj Ravi, confirmed that a blast occurred on Saturday evening near the Syndicate Bus Stand, near to Them Mator (Harijan Colony), Ïewmawlong, Shillong.

According to the SP, the blast occurred around 10:30 PM inside a small abandoned house.

An official statement indicated that no casualties have been reported.

“The damage is confined only to the tin structure and a few window panes nearby. Further reports on the extent of damages are awaited. Preliminary investigation suggests the blast was caused by an IED,” said the SP.

Further inquiry and investigation are in progress, the SP added.
