Tura, July 18: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills has entered its final stages, with election officials distributing more than 98 per cent of enumeration forms to voters across the district.
According to the District Election Officer, 391,571 enumeration forms had been distributed out of a total 396,914 electors in the district’s 11 Assembly constituencies as of 4 pm on Saturday, while 235,420 forms had already been digitised.

The Enumeration Phase of the Special Intensive Revision began on June 30 across all 547 polling parts in the district, with officials reporting smooth progress and active participation from voters.
Among the constituencies, Rangsakona and Dadenggre achieved 100 per cent distribution, while Raksamgre, Tikrikilla, Rajabala and Dalu also recorded near-complete coverage. North Tura and South Tura were among the constituencies where distribution was still in progress.

The district administration also said the dedicated SIR helpline had received 25 calls, all of which were resolved, indicating that voter-related issues were being addressed promptly during the revision .
Election officials have appealed to the remaining electors to complete the enumeration process at the earliest to ensure that the electoral rolls are updated accurately ahead of future elections.
