Guwahati, Oct 8: The final song of Assam’s legendary singer and actor Zubeen Garg, titled “Mur Mon” from the upcoming film Roi Roi Binale, was released on Tuesday, evoking an emotional wave across the state.
Composed, written, and sung by Zubeen himself, “Mur Mon” (meaning My Mind) explores the depths of human emotion and introspection — a fitting reflection of the artiste’s signature poetic touch. The song also features vocals by Sweety Das.
Directed by Rajesh Bhuyan, Roi Roi Binale marks one of Zubeen’s final film appearances. The movie is slated for release on October 31, a date reportedly chosen by Zubeen before his passing.
Following the release, fans flooded social media with tributes, describing the song as “Zubeen’s final gift to Assam” and “a voice that refuses to fade.” Musicians and admirers across the region shared heartfelt messages and video montages celebrating his unparalleled legacy in Assamese music and cinema.
“I’ve heard all his Assamese songs, but this one touched me deeply. It speaks of dreams and aspirations — pure Zubeen magic,” said Mrinmoy Hazarika, a devoted fan.
Mur Mon now stands as a poignant farewell — a final melody from an artiste whose voice continues to echo in the hearts of millions.
