Shillong, Nov 4: “The Government will ensure that every youth in the state would get an opportunity to follow their hobbies or passion”, said Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today while inaugurating the 10 meter indoor shooting range in Demthring, Shillong in presence of Sports Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh.
He informed that setting-up of such sporting facilities will enable local shooters to prepare themselves for the upcoming National Games, which will be hosted in Meghalaya.
“We believe that the infrastructure will cater to the need of our shooters, who will compete in the games and bring glory to the State,” he added.
The indoor shooting range will be under the Jurisdiction of the Shooting Association of Meghalaya.
The Chief Minister remarked that the potential of the youth and their passion needs to be harnessed and the Youth Policy is considering this very aspect by creating enabling environment for the youth to progress and prosper.
He also congratulated the Shooting Association of Meghalaya for achieving a huge milestone in helping the youth in producing athletes in this particular field who aims to earn medals in the upcoming National Games.
