Shillong, June 4: One person died in a road mishap at Shangbangla in Ri Bhoi district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Namrita Borah (25) succumbed to head injury and was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh by public vehicle for medical treatment. However, she was declared brought dead at the said hospital, police said.
The incident took place at 4 am on NH-06 Shangbangla, Ri-Bhoi District on the lane of Shillong to Guwahati when one Hyundai Alcazar (7 Seater) bearing registration number AS01EV9578 driven by MD Ismail Hoque Choudhury (33) of Haripur, PO Kendeguri, PS Sipajhar, Darrang District, Assam-784148 along with 5 occupants namely Anayatul Watus (39), Gayatri Borah (25) Pragya Dihingia (29), Meriganka Borah (26) and Namrita Borah (25) – while coming from Shillong side proceeding towards Guwahati side but on reaching at the above noted place while overtaking one vehicle and in the process dashed against one unknown Truck who parked stationary at the place of occurrence.

As a result of which the said Hyundai got major damage, they said.
All legal formalities have been observed and the dead body has been kept at Civil Morque Room Nongpoh for holding Inquest and for further necessary action.
Also during enquiry it is learnt that the said accidental Hyundai was taken to Guwahati, Assam before the arrival of the Police at the PO.
