Tura, Jan 18: In a thrilling showcase of athleticism, the long jump competition unfolded on Day 3 of the 5th Meghalaya Games, leaving spectators in awe of the impressive jumps displayed by both the male and female athletes.

The highlight of the event was the outstanding performance by Renaldi Dhar from West Jaintia Hills, who secured the top position with a remarkable jump of 6.34 meters.

Following closely behind, Makdonal Majhong from Ri Bhoi district delivered an impressive performance, claiming the second position with a jump of 6.22 meters.

Chelchak D. Sangma, representing Williamnagar, secured the third position with a jump of 6.13 meters, earning him the bronze medal.

The women’s long jump event also witnessed outstanding performances from female athletes, showcasing their agility and determination. Joytiful Narlong emerged as the champion in the women’s long jump, representing Ri Bhoi. She secured the gold medal with an impressive jump of 4.56 meters.

Saviinity Jyndiang claims silver for Nongstoin (West Khasi Hills) with a 4.46 meter leap and in a closely contested competition, Shidalin Rongpih, representing Ri Bhoi, secured the third position with a jump of 4.38 meters, earning the bronze medal.
