Amit Shah has assured ‘all possible steps’ to bring back normalcy in Manipur: Biren Singh

Imphal, June 25: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Sunday said the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that the central government would take ‘all possible steps’ to bring normalcy back in Manipur.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Singh said the Home Minister has advised to strengthen the work towards achieving everlasting peace and also sought the cooperation of every stakeholder in Manipur to ensure that peace prevails in the state.

“Called on Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah Ji in New Delhi today and briefed about the evolving situation on the ground in Manipur,” N.Biren Singh tweeted.

Manipur Chief Minister went to Delhi a day after the all-party meeting held by Union Home Minister in Delhi.

In the Saturday’s all-party meeting in Delhi, Shah reportedly told the political leaders that the government would take steps on the basis of the suggestions submitted by the political parties.

Since the ethnic violence began in Manipur on May 3, this is the chief minister’s second visit to New Delhi to hold meetings with central ministers and leaders.

BJP’s National spokesman and party’s northeast coordinator Sambit Patra, Rajya Sabha member from Manipur Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba and Manipur Assembly Speaker Satyabrata Singh accompanied the Chief Minister, who went to Delhi on Sunday and held meeting with Shah.
