Ampati, Apr 15: In a step aimed at improving access and encourage timely diagnosis, an intensified screening drive for Tuberculosis (TB) and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) was conducted at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office premises in Ampati on Wednesday.
The initiative forms part of the ongoing 100 Days TB Campaign and NCD Screening Programme, under which multiple departments and offices across South West Garo Hills (SWGH) district are being covered within a three-month period.
Health officials said the campaign focuses on early detection of TB, hypertension and diabetes – conditions that often go unnoticed but significantly impact long-term health if left untreated.
Officials also urged residents to reach out to ASHA and ANM workers in their respective areas for guidance and follow-up support related to the screening process.
The drive is being carried out in public interest by the National Health Mission, Meghalaya, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen preventive healthcare services across the district.
