Guwahati, April 2: The Assam government has announced localized public holidays in respective constituencies during the three-phase election process.

The announcement, specifies public holidays on April 19, 26, and May 7 in areas where polling is scheduled.

During the first phase on April 19, polling will take place in five constituencies: Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kaziranga, Lakhimpur, and Sonitpur.

The second phase on April 26 will include five more seats, followed by the remaining four constituencies going for polls in the third phase on May 7.

It needs to be specifically mentioned that the state government order mandates the closure of all government and non-government offices, PRIs, urban local bodies, educational institutions, and commercial establishments including banks, tea gardens, and industries within the specified jurisdiction of the constituencies on polling days.
