Guwahati, Sept 20: Six former NDFB (National Democratic Front of Bodoland) cadres, who had been imprisoned in Bhutan’s Gelephu prison have been released by the Bhutanese authorities on Friday evening.
The six cadres were handed over at the Gelephu entry gate. The cadres are Jivan Basumatary, Sonaram Mochahary, Sonam Magar, Bimal Basumatary, Dilip Basumatary, and Fakhon Narzary.
They were arrested by the Royal Bhutan Army in 2016 and imprisoned in Bhutan.
A team led by BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region) CEM Pramod Boro and MP Jaoynta Basumatary welcomed the former NDFB cadres at the Gelephu entry gate along the India-Bhutan border.
