BJP marks Modi government's 12 years with cleanliness drive at Guwahati temple

Guwahati, June 14: Brooms replaced banners and volunteers rolled up their sleeves as BJP workers and local residents came together for a cleanliness drive at the Ram Janki Temple in Arya Nagar on Sunday, marking 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership at the Centre.

Organised by the BJP’s OBC Morcha under the Swachhata Abhiyan initiative, the campaign saw participants cleaning the temple premises and surrounding areas, reinforcing the message of public participation in maintaining cleaner neighbourhoods and public spaces.

The drive brought together local residents, temple authorities and party workers, who joined hands to clear waste and beautify the area around the temple.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP worker Raju Shahani said cleanliness campaigns were being organised across Assam and the country to mark the completion of 12 years of the Modi government.

“Today, people from the local area gathered at Ram Janki Temple in Arya Nagar and carried out this drive under the leadership of the OBC Morcha. Many party workers participated in the campaign, and we hope such initiatives continue in the future,” he said.

Ganesh Singh, convenor of the OBC Morcha’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme, said the campaign was inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s vision of cleanliness and public participation.

“With the support of local residents, priests and BJP workers, we organised this cleanliness drive. Similar programmes are being conducted in different parts of Assam, and we plan to continue such initiatives in the coming days,” he said.

The event formed part of a wider series of activities being organised across the state to commemorate 12 years of the Modi government, with a focus on community participation, public service and cleanliness initiatives.
