Tura, July 15: A sizeable cache of explosives have been recovered by West Garo Hills police from an area that is not far from the national highway in Anogre during a special operation sometime in Wednesday night.
“On reliable source inputs, a West Garo Hills Police team conducted an operation last night in Gabil area (WGH) and recovered following items which were buried near the National Highway,” informed West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, V. S. Rathore.
The recovered items include 2.25 Kg of Gelatin Sticks (Class-2, Division- 2, Cat- ZZ), 8 non-electric detonators, 8 electric detonators, 10 clippers, 2 cello tapes and approx. 3 meters of safety fuse (Cordtex).
“It seems the miscreants were planning to make an improvised explosive device,” said the SP and informed that a case has been registered and investigation is on.
“We appeal to everyone to inform us regarding any such suspicious activity promptly so that law and order is maintained in the district,” appealed SP Rathore.
