Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin introduces Mountain Berry Gin with Cherry Blossom

Must read

Shillong, Dec 7: Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin has launched a new expression, Mountain Berry Gin with Cherry Blossom, adding a highland botanical profile to its Meghalaya-based portfolio. Distilled from rainwater and produced without sweeteners or colouring, the gin aims to highlight ingredients native to the Cherrapunji–Mawsynram region.

The spirit draws its natural pink tint from two key components: cherry blossom petals and the Khasi Sohiong berry, a seasonal mountain fruit known for its deep colour and sweet-tart profile. The recipe also includes taro root, chamomile, Eastern Himalayan juniper, Khasi mandarin and Kaji Nemu. According to the distillery, the combination lends a floral-citrus nose and a berry-led finish.

The company says the release maintains its focus on transparent distillation, relying solely on the flavour and structure of its botanicals. When served over ice or with tonic, the gin’s concentrated colour dilutes into a pale pink hue derived entirely from natural pigments.

A notable addition in this release is an integrated pour-measuring cap, a patent-applied mechanism designed for quick and precise serving. The packaging continues the brand’s stainless-steel-led design with selective gold embossing.

With the new variant, Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin continues its effort to position Meghalaya’s highland ecology as a distinct identity within India’s craft spirits sector.
