Kohima, July 18: The Chakhesang Hoho Kohima (CHK) will dedicate a newly constructed Emergency Public Utility Building on July 21 before holding its General Session on July 25, during which new office bearers for the 2026-2029 term will be installed.
The Hoho has invited all its members, including village units and colony welfare unions, to participate in both programmes.
The Emergency Public Utility Building will be dedicated at 7 am on July 21. According to CHK, the facility has been created to support the Chakhesang community in Kohima during emergencies, bereavement and other urgent situations by providing space and essential resources for affected families.
The dedication programme will be chaired by Finance Secretary Lhüvesayi Lohe. The dedicatory prayer will be offered by Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, Senior Pastor of CBCMHK, while CHK president Dozohü Tunyi will deliver the welcome address. General Secretary Mütsivoyi Kotso will explain the objectives of the new facility, followed by a congratulatory address from advisor Zachilhü Vadeo.
The CHK General Session will be held at the RCEMPA Complex, Jotsoma, at 11 am on July 25. Former Nagaland Assembly Speaker Z. Lohe will deliver the keynote address.
The session will include presentation of the finance report, a report on the construction of the Emergency Public Utility Building, a folk tune performance by the Chakhesang Cultural Research Institute, Chetheba, and a short address by IGP (Intelligence) Rothihu Tetseo.
A key highlight of the meeting will be the declaration and installation of new office bearers of CHK and the Chakhesang Youth Organisation Kohima (CYOK) for the 2026-2029 term by the Nomination Committee, followed by the installation ceremony led by Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, Senior Pastor of CBCK.
CHK said the two programmes underscore the organisation’s commitment to strengthening community welfare initiatives and ensuring a smooth democratic transition in its leadership.
