Kohima, July 16: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Sharing on X, Rio said, “Called on the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, Smt. @nsitharaman Ji. Sought her consideration following the discontinuation of RDGs, and for support under SASCI for our developmental priorities. Grateful for her guidance and support,”.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought the Centre’s consideration following the discontinuation of Revenue Deficit Grants (RDGs) to the state. He also requested support under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme for Nagaland’s key developmental priorities.

CM Rio expressed gratitude to the Union Finance Minister for her guidance and continued support to Nagaland.
The meeting comes at a time when the state government is working to bridge fiscal gaps and accelerate infrastructure and development projects across Nagaland.
